Lily had made a list of those she wanted to check on, since the bombing on the planet. Her thoughts turned towards those who had been with her at the tavern, where the drinks and food were good. Her eyes landed upon Kes's name, and so she called upon him, he was the one who put the table set up together when they were all going to enjoy the festival. Tapping on her commbadge she sent out a message,

=/\=Lieutenant Th'relnal would you come to sick bay please? This is Doctor Marlow.

Kes was on his 10th lap around the circuit when the computer chirped. He came to a slow stop and continued walking to let his muscles relax slowly. He listened to the comm message as he walked up to the rack with his towel and water bottle on it.

He took a gulp of water and wiped the sweat off his brow and ran his hand through his mused hair.

=/\= Now? Is this important Doc?=/\=

The burly Andorian looked down at his shirt which was sticking to his torso from the sweat sighed. He had been on a roll too.

=/\=Now please, if you are not in the middle of something.=/\= Lily responded, =/\= or, I can come where you are. =/\= she added. Lily couldn't truthfully call it important except it was important to her and also get a notice of his well being.

Kes shrugged. =/\= Be there in a minute. =/\=

A short time later the sweaty Andorian walked into sick bay. He looked around and spotted Lily, he remembered her from before. He walked over and leaned against the wall with his arms crossed over his burly chest.

"You rang?" He said way of greeting.

"Yes I did." Lily began the conversation. "I'd like to do a quick scan of you and check your overall health. You were on the planet and the same for me when those explosions occurred." her voice somewhat sharp, when she first answered. Her brow furrowed, her tone softening, Lily added, "I was a bit worried about the crew."

"I'm fine doc." Kes replied without moving. "No aches and no pains others than from working out and training."

The sweat was starting to evaporate off his skin now, but his shirt still showed signs of moisture. "Thank you for the concern, but I'm sure there are others who need your attention more than I do."

Lily gave Kes a sharp glance, "Just let me give you a quick scan, just for my own easement of concern and also my being the chief medical officer." she paused, as a thought had crossed her mind. "Unless you already had a scan done by Yara." Lily offering up a plausible explanation. "look, I don't mean to be such a worry wart, just... that experience down on the planet brought back memories and I am someone who is very much into the well being of the crew."

Kes wouldn't lie. "No, no scans." He held his arms out straight and gave Lily a nod. "Scan away doctor."

He thought about what she'd said and considered the meaning behind her words. "You've been through a bombing before? You have horrible luck."

Bringing out the tricorder, Lily began her scan. "Yes, I have been through a bombing. Took the life of a close friend of mine, who I considered a sister. I was on the outer edges of the explosion but it hurt like crazy. Not fun when a cabin explodes, took injuries, was unconscious for a bit." her voice took on the tone of just stating the facts, in order to cut off the emotions that were rising. Something did sort of distract her though from her thoughts, there was indication of him having been working out.

"Not to sound fresh but has anyone ever said you have the scent of a marguerita, an alcoholic drink? A salty lime scent? Its not unpleasant." Lily ended up blushing a brilliant red, realizing that her question and comment was a really weird one. Lily wanted to have the deck open up and she disappear.

Kes raised an eyebrow as his antenna circled about. He slowly sniffed his own arm and then looked back at Lily. "You humans have weird tastes if you drink something that smells like this."

He shrugged. "Who knows, maybe we have pheromones that humans synthesized long before first contact."

"A salty lime scent, though the drink has bit more to it. A perfect blend of sweet and sour with a rim of kosher salt. Orange Liqueur, tequila, agave for the sweetener, fresh lime juice. It is delicious. And there I go thinking about a drink." she stated. "I can blame my friend, Annabelle. She got me into looking at how drinks are made, as some of the concoctions I've made, reminded her of different drinks. Which could be used medicinal." she gave a slight laugh. "Okay enough of my blathering along about alcoholic drinks and my potions. I now pronounce, you have passed the scans." giving a slight smile.

"Oh, don't stop talking about alcohol, it's one of the only things that unite the galaxy at large." Kes offered a grin. "But if that is all doc, I want to get back to the course."

"Thank you for arriving when I called, Kes." Lily's cheeks finally cooling down from her first blush. She turned to put down the medical tricorder since she was finished.

A mischievous smile crept across his face as he turned to leave sickbay. "You should join me sometime. Then I can comment on your scent." Kes grinned, his back still to Lily as he walked out the door and down the corridor.

Lily gave Kes a sharp look, feeling her face blaze a brilliant scarlet red, her face heating up once more. She dropped the medical tricorder upon the floor, his answer surprising her. She crouched down to pick up the tricorder, being speechless for a moment or two. Finally she was able to utter, "Oh my!"
